Web Management to Choose?
Posted by: | CommentsEver wondered which web management software to choose from the whole available list of Web management softwares? well, I am sure that everyone of us had gone through this dilemma once or twice at the beginning of our career or at the beginning of a website/business.
Choosing a web management software is the key aspect of your website growth both in terms of quantity and quality and as well as in appealing the wide range of customers. This is because the web management or the CMS should meet your project/business needs. If your chosen web management software does not have the ability to match your present business Design, Work, Complexity and to allow you to ease the complexity of managing all those then you will struggle in the long run.
CMS – Content Management System three categories are, Enterprise, Component and Web.
Each of the above categories has their own requirements to fulfill the competitive business needs and individual project requirements. When considering web management, it is always recommended to consider your niche and the requirements. A very good “CMS A” might be very helpful for website “A” and might not be for website “B” because of different reasons, as it depends on individuals requirements, ability to use the web management software and the requirements of the business and the support of the web management software like software updates.
So, the bottom line is when you think of the choosing a web management software think about your niche and other factors related to your business needs, and your ability in using the software.
I would also like to highlight the fact that checking what your competitors are using for their web management needs would help you draw a line of comparison between your prefered web management software and the competitor’s software.
“In past, I have been asked what is my ideal web management software in terms of Paid vs. Open source.”
My answer is most of the popular web management softwares are well developed to meet the present needs of a web/business owner. But the advantage it brings to the business would only depend on how well it suits and serves your requirements and how ease you find it to upgrade or match your business to make it work for you.
“A web management software that has no updates/support will always fall in the pit of vulnerability” – Malobanna
Last but not the least, never forget to try at least two to three web management softwares that you have shortlisted to use for your website. Try out to build the website (I am not saying to build whole website and see which one you like) but, you should see how ease and how it gets your website shaped. This way you can judge yourself with what web management software you want to go for rather than relying on someone else’s suggestion.
